Chart of Accounts

Chart of Accounts are used by Xero and all other accounting packages to show all the financial accounts in the General Ledger of the company.

In Idealpos, we have Account Codes which consist of Sales Accounts and Purchase Accounts.

The Sales Accounts consist of the Sales Categories that have been created in your system (via Idealpos Back-Office > File > Sales > Sales Categories) along with Tender Methods and other Accounts, Variance, Layby Adjustments, etc.

The Purchase Accounts consist of Purchase Categories that have been created in your system (via Idealpos Back-Office > File > Purchases > Purchase Categories) along with Other Purchase Categories, Freight, Admin Fees.

In order for the Idealpos data to be exported to Xero correctly, you need to link or map the Xero Chart of Account Codes to the Idealpos Account Codes.

The below example shows the Chart of Accounts in Idealpos which have been retrieved from Xero. They will need to be mapped to the Idealpos Account Codes on the left-hand side in order for data to be exported correctly. This step would have been completed when you configured the Xero Integration with Idealpos. Please refer to the Configuring the Xero Integration in Idealpos section within the Getting Started page of the Xero OAuth 2.0 topic.
